Five processes you can automate this week (without knowing how to code)
The second layer of an operation that doesn't depend only on you is collaboration: information flowing without manual work. The good news is you don't have to start with the hard part. These five processes are repetitive, boring and perfectly automatable today.
1. Onboarding a new client
Every time a client comes in you repeat the same steps: folder, project template, welcome email, first invoice. Turning that into a template that deploys itself turns an hour of chores into one click.
2. Following up on proposals
A proposal sent without a reminder is a proposal forgotten. An automatic nudge at day 5 and day 10 recovers money you had already written off.
3. The status of every project
If the client has to ask "how is mine going?", the system is failing. A shared hub where the status updates when you move a card removes the question (and the reply email).
4. Recurring invoices
Retainer services (ongoing support, maintenance, monthly fees) shouldn't require you to remember to invoice. Fixed date, invoice out.
5. Capturing incoming work
Requests that arrive via WhatsApp or email should land in your system on their own — through a form or an automatic forward — not live in the chat until they get lost.
The rule for choosing where to start: automate first whatever you do the same way every week. Every process that runs on its own is an hour that comes back to you — to sell, deliver or create.
